So, You Want To Write a Memoir

“I believe that the memoir is the novel of the 21st century; it’s an amazing form that we haven’t even begun to tap…we’re just getting started figuring out what the rules are. “ ~ Susan Cheever

This 1.5-hour session gets you started on one of the most satisfying journeys of your life. Memoir lasts a lifetime and is passed down from generation to generation.

Taught in private consultation by: Susan G. Weidener, author of the critically-acclaimed Again in a Heartbeat, a memoir of love, loss and dating again, selected as a 2011 Editor’s Choice by Story Circle Network. The sequel, Morning at Wellington Square, a memoir of a woman’s journey from loss to finding healing through writing, has been described as a “powerful odyssey . . . finding in the ordinary life, the extraordinary . . . and the universal truths of day-to-day living.”

Session includes:

What is memoir and how it differs from autobiography.

Plotting out the narrative arc of your story.

“In the later part of 2013, I met Susan Weidener. I was inspired with the caring and support surrounding the group of women attending the Saturday morning gatherings of the Women’s Writing Circle. After several months of writing, I recognized I was at the stage of needing a professional writing coach to confide in and trust with my inner thoughts and words already transposed onto paper. I reached out to Susan, via phone, and she kindly returned my call the same afternoon; we met in person the following day. The dialogue flowed easily during our 2 hour consultation. My confidence level boosted; my clarity and direction understood; my inner excitement stirring! Susan . . thank you for your guidance, thank you for believing in me.” ~ Charisse Marei-Ronnermann – Chester Springs, Pennsylvania

“I so much appreciate the space you held for me, the questions you asked that created openings that I did not see before, and the words of advice and encouragement that you provided. It was amazingly freeing to be able to share my ideas with such an accepting soul.” Barb Daanen – Racine, Wisconsin.
